HUTTERITE BEANS

HUTTERITE BEANS

Description:
This Heirloom bean was brought over to the United States around 1760. It was, and still is, grown by the Hutterite population along the Canadian border of Montana and is one of the best varieties of beans for making soups.   The Hutterite beans appearance is similar to a black-eyed pea but it has a smaller eye and yellow to green hue.  With a creamy texture and mild flavor this bean is excellent in soups, stews, salads and bean spreads.

Suggested Use:

Prepare Hutterite beans and add to rice blends, broth soups, fresh vegetables, cold salads or pasta.  Hutterite beans are a hearty addition to casseroles and soups.
