CHERRIES, BING
Description:
Throughout history, Cherries have been lauded for both their luscious fruit as well as their gorgeous blossoms. Tourists flock yearly to Washington, D.C. to view the ornamental Cherry trees that the Governor of Tokyo presented to America's Capital in 1912. There are two main types of cherries, sweet and sour. The larger of the two are the sweet cherries, producing large, firm, heart-shaped fruit. Most popular for eating out of hand, Bing Cherries are a sweet addition to meals and desserts. Bing Cherries are the most flavorful variety of sweet cherries. This large, extra sweet cherry turns a deep purple when ripe. Cherries are grown in twenty countries with the United States being the leader in production. Our Bing Cherries contain no sulfites and are mechanically dried.
Suggested Use:
For an exotic meal that will impress everyone, try smoked turkey salad with Bing Cherries and hazelnuts or a broiled chicken breast with Bing Cherries, wine and raisins. Bing Cherries are very versatile, use in baked goods, salads, sauces, stuffings, trail mixes, hot cereals, muffins, pancakes, and ice cream.
