CANT-5
Description:
The Cantaloupe is actually a European melon which earned its name from the Italian papal village of Cantalup where some historians say this species of melon was first grown. Our Cantaloupe is not exported. Cantaloupe belong to the same family as the pumpkin, cucumber, and squash and like most of its relatives, grows along a trailing vine. Our American cantaloupes are actually muskmelons. They have a raised, smooth taupe colored skin when ripe with a pale orange colored flesh that is sweet and juicy. Cantaloupe is an excellent source of vitamin A and C.
