Description:
The Champignon or White Button is the most frequently used of all Mushrooms. They have been cultivated by the French since the 1700's, but today the United States is the largest grower of cultivated White Button Mushrooms. The Champignon has a mild flavor and firm texture which holds its shape well when cooked but does decrease in size. The Champignon comes in sliced, kibbled and powdered form and merges well in gravies, sauces, cream soups, stews, pasta, casseroles and even stir-fry. The Champignon absorbs flavors well in any dish.

Recommended Preparation Instructions:
To reconstitute, place desired amount into a bowl covered with boiling water and let soak for 15-20 minutes. Rinse well and add directly to recipe that will cook for at least 25 minutes. One ounce dry reconstitutes to 3-4 ounces.
