Mushrooms bring to mind endless varieties of fungus in various shapes, sizes and colors.  Popular as a cooking ingredient throughout Europe and the Orient for centuries, the mushroom has recently received a great deal more attention here in the U.S.  With literally thousands of varieties of this fleshy fungus, gourmet cooks have at their disposal a multitude of choices of flavors to enhance their cuisine. Dried mushrooms, besides being economical have a more concentrated flavor than their fresh counterparts.  A smaller amount is required for recipes.  They can be stored for long periods of time without spoiling. Forest Blend is an earthy, yet savory combination of Shiitake, Porcini, Oyster, Bolete, Wood Ear and Sliced Shiitake.

Forest Blend is a combination of mushrooms that will compliment light meats and fish. Try this blend in lassagna, chowders, rich soups, creamy dips, casseroles and rice dishes.  A flavorful addition to chicken or pork Oriental recipes and stir fry.
