Description:
Truffles, highly esteemed and sought after, they are tuberous fungi that grow underground near the roots of trees, particularly oak, beech, hazel and poplar, but cannot be found on maples or cedars. Sought out by hunters using trained dogs, Truffles are used extensively in International cuisine. With a wild, earthy, rich flavor, adding them to your recipe gives it a unique and exotic quality.
