SUNFLOWER SEEDS
Description:
While the Sunflower is recognized worldwide for its beauty it is better known for being a healthy and nutritious snack. Packed with protein, fiber, minerals, and calcium, Sunflower Seeds are also an important source for Vitamins E and B. Sunflower Seeds come from a large daisy-like flower that is native to North America. Named so because of the similarity to the sun and because the plants actually twist on their stems to follow the sun throughout the day! Sunflower Seeds are about 1/4 inch long and grow in white and black teardrop shaped hard shells. Sunflower Seeds have a nutty flavor that is easy to implement in salads, snack mixes, cereals and chips. Sunflower Seeds provide Sunflower Oil which is highly valued. Chieftains Sunflower seeds are shelled and unroasted or salted.
Suggested Use:

Sprinkle Sunflower Seeds in salads, stir-fry, burgers, meat loaf, breads, muffins, cookies. For a unique change add them to cheese dips, candy brittle, granola bars, cereals Oriental dishes and pasta!
