PISTACHIOS, SHELLED, RAW

Description:
Pistachios are native to Central and Western Asia. They were brought to Rome in the 1st Century on the trade route from Syria. Pistachios grow on trees which average twenty feet in height. The trees grow in the Mediterranean, the Mideast and parts of the U.S. The Nuts are encased in a sticky husk which is removed before the Nuts are dried. Once dried, Pistachios are green and tan in color. our Pistachios have been hulled (shell removed) and unsalted. Pistachios are rich in Calcium, Thiamin, Phosphorus, Iron, and Vitamin A.

Suggested Use:
Pistachios are great in desserts and on ice cream. Use them in appetizers such as pate in main dishes. They go particularly well with chicken and seafood. Roasted Pistachios in rice seasoned with Saffron makes a delicious side dish.
