Description:

The Champignon or White Button is the most frequently used of all Mushrooms. They have been cultivated by the French since the 1700's.  Today, the United States is the largest grower of cultivated White Button Mushrooms.  The Champignon has a mild flavor and firm texture.  It holds it shape well when cooked but does decrease in size.  Available sliced or powdered, this mushrooms flavor merges well in gravies, sauces, cream soups, stews, pasta, casseroles and even stir-fry.
