Basmati Rice is superb when steamed with aromatic spices and has long been known as the fragrant breakfast rice. Excellent in Thai style pork stew, Indian vegetable rice, popcorn chicken, curries and dessert puddings. The fragrant taste of Basmati Rice goes well with spicy curries or stir-fry. Substitute in any recipe calling for long grain White Rice. Can be mixed with dried fruits, nuts, herbs and spices for added flavor.
Recommended Preparation Instructions:
Place 1 cup of rice and 2 cups of water in sauce pan with tight fitting lid. Bring to boil, cover, reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand 5 minutes. Season as desired and fluff with fork before serving.
One cup dry yields 2½ - 3 cups cooked.
