BASMATI RICE, WHITE

BASMATI RICE, WHITE

Description:
Basmati rice means the "queen of fragrance or the perfumed one." Well known for its delightful flavor, Basmati Rice is grown in India and Pakistan around the Himalayan Foothills, as well as in Iran.  Offering a sweet and nutty flavor, Basmati Rice is often served in Indian and Asian cooking.  Basmati Rice is a long grain, thin, White Rice that cooks up separate and fluffy giving off a nutlike aroma. Basmati is similar to Jasmine Rice but has a more concentrated flavor.  Product of the USA.

Suggested Use:
Use Basmati Rice in any dish calling for Basmati.  Basmati Rice is superb when steamed with aromatic spices and has long been known as the fragrant breakfast rice.  Excellent in Thai style pork stew, Indian vegetable rice, popcorn chicken, curries and dessert puddings.  The fragrant taste of Basmati Rice goes well with spicy curries or stir-fry.  Substitute in any recipe calling for long grain White Rice.  Can be mixed with dried fruits, nuts, herbs and spices for added flavor.
