AchiotePaste is considered the “Saffron” of Mexico. A pinch of fresh Achiote gives any dish an exotic, earthy perfume. Achiote Paste is a blend of Annatto seed, garlic, vinegar, iodized salt and spices. Used primarily in Latin cuisines it is specific to Southern Mexico and Central America. Smeared on fish before it is grilled or painted on pork before it is braised or roasted, Achiote Paste imparts the deep color and warm flavor of Mexican cooking.

Recommended Preparation Instructions:
Dilute 1 ounce of the paste into ½ cups of vinegar or sour orange juice. Rub into meat and allow to marinate. Use 1 tablespoon per serving.
