FRUIT FUSION CHUTNEY

 

  • ¨    1 fresh apple, diced
  • ¨    1 cup fruit fusion
  • ¨    ¼ cup golden raisins
  • ¨    2 cups juice of choice (apple, cherry, orange)
  • ¨    ¼ apple cider vinegar
  • ¨    ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¨    ½ tsp. grated dried crystallized ginger
  • ¨    dash of cayenne pepper
  • ¨    ¼ tsp. cloves
  • ¨    ¼ tsp. five spice powder
  • ¨    ¼ tsp. cinnamon

 In medium sized saucepan, mix together all ingredients except the spices.  Simmer until dried fruit begins to “plump”.  Add spices and simmer at lowest heat possible until at desired thickness.  Additional juice may be added if needed.  

Serving suggestions:

  • ¨    Serve chutney on crackers and cheese of choice.
  • ¨    Serve chutney on top of rice pudding.
  • ¨    Serve chutney on cooked pork or lamb.
